Overview of Be Active NC Program Transition to NC Prevention Partners

Be Active NC (BANC) ceased operation in November 2012. Selected BANC programs and initiatives are transitioning to NC Prevention Partners (NCPP) through the Be Active NC Legacy Fund.  We are committed to integrating the strengths of BANC’s programs within our signature program framework to ensure sustainability while continuing BANC’s programs and partnerships.

Be Active Kids – Please contact Richard Rairigh (919-287-7009) for details on how this BCBSNC Foundation signature program will continue to be offered to promote healthier daycares and preschools.

Be Active Schools – NCPP will integrate resources for schools and wellness challenge materials into the Zone Health program toolbox and our consultation to schools for establishing wellness policies. NC School Health Connection partners will discuss opportunities for collaboration and continuing programs.

Energizers – NCPP will continue to offer Energizer booklets free-of-charge to North Carolina schools in partnership with the NC Department of Public Instruction.  An online order form is coming soon.  Visit our Energizer page to download and print classroom Energizers, order booklets (coming soon!), or to watch an 8-minute narrated training video for teachers.

Worksite Wellness – WorkHealthy Americasm is being offered to all organizations that have taken advantage of BANC’s worksite wellness consultation services at a substantial discount.  BANC’s worksite wellness tools and trainings will be integrated within WorkHealthy Americasm.  Please contact Anne Thornhill (919-904-7603) to get started.

A Matter of Balance – NCPP served as the interim coordinator for A Matter of Balance from November 15, 2012 through February 28, 2013.  All forms and correspondences for A Matter of Balance should currently be sent to:
