The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) has been recognized by the South Carolina Hospital Association and NC Prevention Partners for providing the highest standard of excellence for the healthy food environments offered to employees, patients and visitors. 

The Medical University of South Carolina will become 100% tobacco-free on March 1, 2012.  Guest blogger Susan Johnston describes the process leading up to this monumental cultural change at MUSC.

Representatives from eight Centers of Excellence in South Carolina gathered for an inaugural meeting.
 

The nine Centers of Excellence are Baptist Easley, Beaufort Memorial Hospital, Carolinas Hospital System, Georgetown Hospital System, Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center, Hilton Head Hospital, Laurens County Health Care System, Medical University of South Carolina, and Palmetto Health.
