Zone Health combats childhood obesity by helping schools promote good nutrition and physical activity before, during, and after the school day. In North Carolina, one out of every three children is overweight or obese. Zone Health works with schools to fight childhood obesity by improving their nutrition and physical activity environments to give students more opportunities to eat healthy food, be physically active, and improve their overall health. - Initiate an action plan using low-cost resources and equipment,

WorkHealthy AmericaSM is an online program that allows schools to assess, grade, implement, and evaluate effective and practical worksite wellness policies and programs. More than 140,000 people are employed by public school districts in North Carolina – about 85,000 teachers and 55,000 other employees. These school employees take on the critical responsibility of preparing and guiding our youth; however, many are experiencing stress-related health problems as a result of growing demands and limited resources. WorkHealthy America looks at how well your campus supports healthful habits in the areas of nutrition, physical activity, and tobacco use. From report cards to action plans to step-by-step resources, WHA is a tool to help schools promote a healthy and productive workforce.
